Our boxing day walk

Time to get some fresh air and enjoy the snow before it all goes. Walking from the house, what a lovely way to spend a couple of hours before lunch!
A stroll across the fields...

Then down the lane....

...to the Shropshire Union Canal

before heading home

sheer icy delights

I very carefully picked a way along my track to the common, oh it was so worth it!

Winter wonderland

But at minus ten degrees this morning it proved a treacherous lane to drive up and down!

Snow crystals

With the risk of being boring, here are some more snow pictures I took on my walk today. Enjoy!

First significant snow of the season

Having got up early thanks to the deafening silence, I had time to enjoy the snow in its magnificent pristine state before having to drive up the lane later!

For those of you still snug in your beds at 730am today, this is what I was enjoying!

And back home for sunrise and a full English on the table waiting!
What more could I ask!

Glencoe and beyond

To get to Acharacle and home again we had to drive through more incredibly dramatic scenery of North West Scotland, here are some of the views I saw from the car!
First snows of this winter taken on way to Acharacle

Journey home all snow has been washed away!

The train did us a huge favour, I took this from the car as we drove passed, but the lay bys were full of cars parked with people rushing across the road to get a good view and take their pics, which helped clear the roads of traffic and gave us a quicker journeyhome, still at least 6 hours of driving ahead of us!
