Snow drift update

Yesterday I posted photos on here showing how the snow was forming drifts wherever there was a gap in the hedge. Today after more snow overnight and continual snow this morning I can report now do an update on those drifts.

yesterday I shared this photo of a drift at a field  gate,

 
Today it looks like this
 
 
The worrying thing is that quarter of an hour later when we returned to this drift our footprints has already been covered over - not because it was still snowing but because the wind was blowing the snow off the fields and across the road.

Snow - and it's nearly April!

In three days time I will be celebrating my pearl wedding anniversary, I can assure you we didn't have snow on the ground then, although there was plenty on the the lake district peaks and this time last year we were enjoying a mini heat wave with thoughts of the impending summer drought!
How much longer will this winter last?

the hedges provided protection from the strong cold wind, but where there were gaps, drifts formed
