Earl's Hill, Shropshire

Today we visited Earl's Hill a Shropshire Wildlife Trust reserve and somewhere we have been intending to visit for a few years.
A stunning reserve, such a lot to look at - definitely somewhere we will have to return to!
It started with a walk through deciduous woodland watching lots of woodland birds including pied flycatchers, and a variety of tits, finches and other small birds, well hidden for the most part by the leaves.

Then we turned off the main path taking a steep climb up a narrow path - a tad scary at times,
to reach the top and the Jubilee beacon ready to be lit later tonight

Looking around the views were spectacular

.

Our path down would have been a far better approach - we will know for next time,

following the path we glimpsed a redstart, and great spotted woodpecker and we came across these beautiful demoiselles

A very wet and bedraggled lane

Last night it started raining and 18 hours on it is still going strong - such a shame for the jubilee celebrations!
It has transformed our lane, yesterday it looked magnificent lined with stunning cow parsley, today it looked totally bedraggled, weighted down by the heavy raindrops -  quite beautiful in a totally different way!
