A stroll from Valtos to Rubha nam Brathairean (Brothers point)

Having spent more than ten hours in the car on Saturday driving to Skye, we chose to spend our first Sunday on the Island close to Valtos, so we walked the short distance to Rubha nam Brathairean the most easterly point of the Trotternish peninsula
To get there we had to walk along the orchid filled roadside verges.

before reaching the path down to the coast, where we spotted these beautiful common blue butterflies

then we reached to beach and a walk along the coast

Where I spent some time watching this young wheatear

before having our lunch looking over a sea of jellyfish

and another stroll along the cliffs for Mr and Miss S

then a walk back to the cottage - more butterflies spotted along with this six-spot burnet moth
